It's the last week of school! It's hard to believe we made it to the end of the year, and that your child has finished 3rd grade! It's been a wonderful year, and I'm so thankful for having had the opportunity of working with such sweet and eager kids! It's made coming to school such a pleasure for me each day! Thank you for all of your support this year, for your kind words, and generous thoughtful gestures. Thanks also for helping your child and working as a team to help your child have a great year! I couldn't ask for a better parent group. Special thanks to our wonderful room parents, Shobana Reddy and Alexandria Lucas! They have be phenomenal with their hours of organizing and brilliant party planning! Here's wishing you all a wonderful summer with your families and continued success in 4th grade! I will miss you all!!!
D25 is winding down the year! The "train" is returning to the station and getting ready to say so long! This final week, we'll be doing...
Reading Workshop: We finished reading The One and Only Ivan, along with our Reflection and Response Journal. The kids have done an amazing job thinking and reflecting their way through this wonderful story! Your child will be bringing their journals home on Thursday. We did a quick read of Charlotte's Web, another wonderful story. We'll watch the DVD on Friday and compare/contrast the book with the movie.
Writing Workshop: We did one last Opinion Writing piece on the topic: "Should There Be Zoos?" Having just finished, The One and Only Ivan, the kids were full of opinions and reasons to support them! These writing pieces will be in their Reading and Writing binders, which come home on Friday.
Math: This is a fun time of year since we've finished all the Math Modules and covered all of our 3rd grade standards. Check out your child's Math Number Sense posters, coming home Thursday! Your child can continue practicing math facts over the summer by visiting any of the math websites linked on my home page.
